“The Persistence of Dreams” ceramics of Maki Horanai & the paintings of Louise Grove Welchers

Posted by on Oct 08 2014

Maki’s ceramic work, together with the paintings of Louise Grove Welchers, are on display at the lovely gallery and cafe, Hilltop on Tamborine, located at 1525 Tamborine Oxenford Road, Wongawallan QLD   4210.
Many people joined us for drinks on the opening day, Sunday 26 October, and the exhibition will continue through 23, November. Maki’s ceramics evoke similar feeling to her paintings – peace, calm, tranquility, and a bit of surprising funky quirkiness. Definitely worth a visit, especially as Christmas is approaching.

Through the support of Marks and Gardner Gallery on Tamborine Mountain in Queensland Australia, thousands of New Yorkers had an opportunity to see Maki’s paintings. For the second year in a row, Marks and Gardner took the work of a few select Australian artists to their booth at the New York City Art Fair.

The reception to Maki’s work was warm, and many of her paintings were sold. Maki’s paIntings and ceramics are now in homes in North America, Japan, Singapore, Europe and throughout Australia.
